CACFP stands for the Child and Adult Care Food Program. The program reimburses child care programs for healthy, nutritious meals and snacks served to children in their care.

Yes, you are required to keep records of what foods you serve the children, but the program can be done online which greatly limits the amount of paperwork involved. For information about what records you need to keep, call the CACFP Coordinator or monitor.

The Department of Health, who funds CACFP, requires us to do home visits (monitoring visits). These visits are required to be unannounced. During these visits, we must check your records, but can also include technical assistance and training to help you with your program.

You can access the Kid Kare program for CACFP from any computer that has internet access.  We can also provide paper forms to claim manually without a computer.
