Assisting in promoting quality infant and toddler care in New York State

The Infant Toddler Technical Assistance Center assists in promoting quality infant and toddler care in New York State.  An Infant Toddler Specialist trains child care professionals, parents, and the community in infant/toddler best practices and provides professional development opportunities for infant and toddler eduators.  The Infant Toddler Mental Health Specialist supports infant and toddler social-emotional development by supporting the caregivers.  

Program Eligibility

The services of the Infant Toddlers Specialist and the Infant Toddler Mental Health Specialist are offered free of charge to infant/toddler professionals, parents, and the community in Broome, Chenango and Tioga Counties.

Infant Toddler Resources

National experts have identified 10 research based components that are essential to high quality child care.  Using the 10 Components of High Quality Care as a guide, The NYS Infant and Toddler Resource Network is helping child care programs improve the quality of care for our babies, toddlers and their families.

The Infant Toddler Specialist is available to help child care programs increase the quality of care they provide infants and toddlers through intensive mentoring called the Social Emotional Coaching towards Understanding Relationships and Environments (SECURE) Project.  To apply to be part of the SECURE Project, fill out the application and email/mail to the Infant Toddler Specialist today!

For Our Babies is a national campaign that raises awareness and mobolizes action for the healthy development of children throughout the country.  New York is the first state to join the national movement.  For more information on For Our Babies New York, follow them on Facebook.

The Early Care and Learning Council

The Early Care and Learning Council coordinates the Infant Toddler Project and the Infant Toddler Resources Centers across the state. The project also works on numerous state level groups to provide a voice for babies and assure that state planning starts at birth.

Earlychildhood.org

Earlychildhood.org was developed by the NYS Council on Children and Families Head Start Collaboration Project to support professional development and improve the quality of early childhood and school-age programs. It is designed to provide a one-stop source of information for those exploring careers in early childhood and school-age programs as well as those already working in the field and looking to advance in their careers. It also contains information that supports the efforts of program directors and others to improve the quality of their programs.
